91-93. Barrel Sample. Full of juicy black currant and berry-fruit flavors, the wine is shows a balance of light and dark; fresh and brooding. This darker structured side that will allow it to develop further.

The 2015 Château Larose Trintaudon is an elegant, almost Pinot Noir-like effort that shines for its silky texture and finesse-driven style. Offering up plenty of strawberries, leafy herbs/underbrush, and floral nuances, drink the medium-bodied, incredibly pure Haut Médoc anytime over the coming 7-8 years.

Open-knit, with juicy red currant and cherry fruit flavors lined with light lilac and savory notes. Pebbly tannins carry the finish. Drink now through 2021. 80,000 cases made, 12,500 cases imported.

Tasted at the Cru Bourgeois annual tasting, the 2015 Larose-Trintaudon is a little unclean on the nose, while the palate is soft and fleshy but needs more backbone and delineation on the slightly meandering finish. Easy-drinking and nothing offensive but it is not a patch on the great 2014 Larose-Trintaudon that I tasted last year. Tasted September 2017.
