A blend of Sangiovese with a small part Cabernet Sauvignon, the Borratella 2017 Chianti Classico shows ripe cherry, cassis and dried blackberry. The wine is quite simple with little else at the back, save for some informal layers of soft spice and smoke. It prizes informality with an easy-drinking personality that is ready for a no-fuss pasta with ragù.
