The 2019 Shift is a rich ruby with a purple tinge and is 58% Zinfandel, 24% Tempranillo, 13% Syrah, and the rest Petite Sirah. It offers aromas of red and black currant, red plum, and black raspberry, as well as vanilla bean, pepper, and toasted cedar. Full-bodied, with notes of fresh red plum, baked earth, and mocha, it's a rich wine with a decadent feel, and there's little of that ashy tannin structure found in the Blue Dog. Drink 2023-2028.

A broad-shouldered blend, with racy blackberry, sandalwood and other dusky spices that build toward grippy tannins. Hands off for now. Zinfandel, Petite Sirah, Tempranillo and Syrah. Best after 2022. 3,500 cases made.
